Firwood Country Bed and Breakfast

Wooler

What else would you like to know?

Our trademarks are peace and tranquility!

The house was built around the 1860’s as part of the estate of Middleton Hall and was said to have been used as a dowager lodge.

Looking at Firwood

It was lived in for over 90 years by Captain Humphrey Simpson and retains many of its original features. Deceptively large and all on one level, Firwood has a porticoed entrance with a tiled hallway. Wide Georgian style doors lead to spacious lounge and dining rooms, both with open fires and bay windows in which to sit and contemplate the views and wildlife.

THOSE LITTLE EXTRAS

For a small charge we also provide packed lunches (please ask at time of booking), with complementary flask filling and a limited laundry service.

Cheviots, Glen and hayrick

We always have lots of books and leaflets about Northumberland walks, Alnwick, Bamburgh, Farne Islands etc. to help you make the most of your stay at Firwood Bed and Breakfast and will try to help with anything else you require. We keep the tide times for Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and we can offer advise if you would like to book a trip to the Farne Isles from Seahouses.

If you are travelling by public transport, please let us know and we will collect and deliver you back to Wooler.

Don't forget, we will also dry off your walking boots and clothes ready for your next day out in the Northumberland hills, if you are unlucky enough to catch the odd passing shower! We also have secure lockup for cycles and an outside tap and hose for those times when you just have to wash the bike off.
