Firwood nestles close to the Cheviot Hills just about a mile and a half from the town of Wooler in Northumberland. Wooler is located on the A697 about 18 miles south of the Scottish border and is a stone built Market Town. It sits high above Wooler Water in the foothills of the Cheviots. Due to the areas clean air and natural beauty Wooler has a reputation going back through the ages as a place to relax and recuperate.

The main street hosts a range of specialist shops as well as a good selection to cater for everyday needs. Wooler is the natural gateway to the Cheviots, the rural area of Glendale and the Northumberland National Park.

We are very easy to find from the centre of Wooler but if you are at all unsure, please park in the town, somewhere easily found (the Co-op is a good choice!) give us a ring and we will come and guide you in. Don't forget, if you are on Public Transport, again, give us a ring from the town and we will collect you.

Take the first turning into Wooler on your left marked Town Centre, off the A697 on a right hand bend. This takes you up a hill and as you reach the top, you will see a pub called the Wheatsheaf on your right hand side. Opposite this is a sharp left hand turn, by another pub, this time the Anchor, up a hill signed Harthope Valley and Northumberland National Park - take this left turning. Follow this road (out into the country!) until you come to a right hand turn, straight on for Northumberland N.P. and right for Earle and Middleton Hall. Take the right hand turn. As you come into Earle, there is another sign on a left hand bend for Middleton Hall and Langleeford, continue on this road for just under 1/2 mile, passing a long low white building on your right (Walkerwalls), followed by another couple of white cottages and then our B+B sign is straight after these, again on your right. Turn, come up the drive and step out at the front of the house and start contemplating.
